Pieces of New York

brooklyn navy yard, williamsburg bridge, and the empire state building

Two of the three here are quite obvious – the bridge and that all too familiar building in the background.  That big blue object in the foreground, however, is also a pretty prominent structure, but neglected because it’s in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan.  I mean, not necessarily the object itself, but the whole of the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  I honestly thought the Navy Yard was just a blob on a map until I started riding my bike by it every day.  It’s not exactly pretty, but then again the Empire State Building isn’t either.  It’s just a really tall skyscraper that reels in tourists by the busloads.  Which is why I stay far, far away.
