Changing of the Guard: Honey’s Unofficial Launch

September 17th, 2009

No one declared this to be a launch party for Honey.  But after several stabs at planning one months ago when we first relaunched and each time falling through, it seems like this one just came together on its own accord.  (Not really of course — our PR girl, Christina, and several others put a lot of work into planning this event.  Total props to them.  They just made it seem easy.)

So coming back from a photo shoot one day, we pluck this guy off the streets of Soho on the basis that we totally dig his jacket.  And what do you know?  Studded by him.  Done by him.  All of it.  Pace.  That’s his name.  He’ll be at the event studding whatever you give him.  But let’s try and keep the goods PG-13.  No studded crotchless panties this time around, please.  Although I’ve thought about it because let me tell you that once you place an order on StudsAndSpikes.com, it’s over.  The world is a blank canvas and anything can be studded.  Dangerous territory.  But also extremely wallet conscious as studded goods cost an absurd amount at retail price.  Seriously, DIY here, folks.

Anyway, according to the invite this is where you can “meet the new faces of HoneyMag.com.”  Hence the unofficial launch party.  Along with the many fantastic artists currently participating in the Black and White art show, including the renowned Kara Walker, Honey will be showcasing our favorite original work to date.

We gave Pace some of our stuff to rework and made him stop by to take some photos.  Can you see what I mean about this dude’s style?  Badass.

Also below are Shanel’s boots, the bees (with a placeholder for moi), Charle’s boots, and the Head Bitch herself: Shanel.  We’ll see you Thursday.
